A Sustainability Declaration is a compulsory checklist, which must be completed for every domestic property advertised for sale in Queensland.
As of 1 January 2010, all Queensland residential properties listed for sale must provide a Sustainability Declaration to be made available for viewing by prospective purchasers. All marketing material must provide information as to where the sustainability declaration can be located, and open homes must have a hard copy available on site.
As the vendor, you are responsible to ensure that your home has a completed and accurate sustainability declaration at all open homes, and that your real estate agent has included an active link to a copy of the declaration in all online marketing. You may be found liable if your sustainability declaration is found to be inaccurate or misleading.
The sustainability declaration is a report, which has been designed to outline the sustainability features of a particular property for the future, including energy, water, access and safety.
With the current focus of governments on the environment and sustainable futures, we are all being encouraged to consider the economic and environmental impact of housing. With major increases in water and electricity costs, accurate sustainability declarations will be an important indication of future costs of home expenditure.
We provide accurate Sustainability Declarations within 24 hrs or less to customers from the Gold Coast to Noosa. Just call 1300 283 764 or email us at info@sustainabilitydeclarationsqld.com.au
